Precious blessings

I have always been very fortunate to have a close relationship with Mandy and the many "kids" (other children, young adults, etc that have found a place in my home to be themselves) the Lord has blessed me with over the years. The place these "kids" hold in my life is beyond words. They have loved me, taught me, blessed me more the I can ever place here. Most are now parents themselves and what a joy it is to watch them teach there own children and find there way. Those that are building careers are just as enjoyable to watch. Watching my kids find the way for their lives has been such a joy. It is a blessing to have the internet to be able to keep up with those that are not close by due to the paths their lives have taken.

I still am blessed to have lunch with Mandy, her husband, Keegan, and their precious daughter Mariah. Watching them build her foundation on the love of Jesus in her life is so much fun. I have always been awed that my Heavenly Father chose me to be Mandy's mom, but to watch her be a mom in her own right is ever bit as a blessing.

Thank you Lord for the time you give me to share in their lives still and have a place in Mariah's life. You are and always will be an amazing incredible God.

Traditions make memories

Since Mandy was 2 1/2 we have been going to the rodeo finals. She never cared much for the fair and midway always concerned about what she was missing inside at the rodeo. As she grew we never missed a year and anyone who wanted to join us was more than welcome. Saturday October 17 was the rodeo finals this year and we had just as much fun as ever! Cotton candy, corn dogs, just fun with each other all the way around. Tommy and Keegan's being there to share with us only makes it all the more fun. As I told Mandy she may be 28 yrs old, but she will always my little girl. I can only wait and pray that Mariah shares our love for this event. I am sure she will.

Blessings from our Awesome Lord!

I have been fighting Asthma for several months now due to the dry windy year we have had. Each day I use my inhaler & just keep going because there are only 3 of us out on 7 on staff currently & it isn't okay for someone to not be at work. Apart from this ongoing rash of hives I am feeling much better since the rain but today I went back to the doctor for followup on the & when I was done I was convicted to go to Tractor Supply to browse & see what they had new as opposed to one of the western stores in town we love to shop at (I was feeling alittle unsure but so rarely get away from the hotel). Today is Tommy's birthday too & I could see what they might have he couldn't live without. :):):):) As I was browsing I notice a young man was a business acquaintence come in the door with 3 other friends but didn't think that much about it as I was enjoy a few minutes to myself prior to returning to work. They had been in the store about 15 minutes and one of the young ladies approached me & asked if she could pray for me. She was very sweet and opened with"I know this may sound strange, but I feel led to pray for you if that would be okay" I grinned & assured her I would always let someone pray for me. Shared with her that I knew Josh (we met through a business contacting call & the Lord used it to greatly bless us both). We visited for awhile & then they prayed for me. I was so blessed. I am frequently the person who does the praying and helping someone else & I love that but I can't remember the last time someone approached me through the Holy Spirit's prompting. As is any encounter with Our Lord it was awesome! Made my day. They allowed me to share a couple of other names to cover in pray with me as they go to our Lord in prayer & we went on about our way. We did have to talk about how our Lord does not share his glory so there isn't any question of who to thank & give credit to. Thank you Laurie, Josh & friends. You are awesome! May God bless you today as you have me.

Ours Lord's wisdom for the years

When Mandy was 9 our Lord made a lady in our church aware of us even though she did not know us. My name came up repeatedly and he just laid us on her heart and she has been praying for Mandy and I ever since. Today she got to hold my precious granddaughter. She was ill a few years ago and I was afraid ("Do not fear, fear is not from the Lord") my grandchildren would not have the privilege of Marion in their life. Today Mariah was so blessed. Marion is actually doing quite well and when I stopped by to see her not too long ago all she wanted to know about was Mariah. I left the only photos I had with me & left from our visit with her praying over my family. What a legacy she has provided for us over the years. She has held my hand, poured love and wisdom into me and been such a part of our lives I can't imagine life without her. She was my rock more times that I can ever begin to count. There has been so much love and support poured into our lives through her she words cannot begin to express it. Thank you Lord for today and Mariah getting to meet Marion. It was the perfect ending to a very rough day.

I got to see my precious granddaughter twice in a weekend this past weekend. She is such a joy and I look forward to the memories we will make in the upcoming years. Everyone agrees she is a doll. Her mommy changed the lives of everyone she met, I suspect this little angel will be the same way.

Dreams 2

One of the best parts of this dream coming true was Promise and Blessing were both carrying and delivered within a couple of months of us getting them moved. Promise gave birth to Miss Priss (lower photos) first and the fun began. Within hours Tommy was able to crawl up next to her & use her as a pillow. As you can see she has grown to a beautiful filly with a very sweet disposition.
Blessing gave birth to Lil Miss a month later. Blessing was little more unwilling to let us get up close for a few days but it didn't take long for Lil Miss to come around to check out those strangers that brought dinner every evening.
A day doesn't go by that feeding these beautiful creatures fails to make the worst of days go away. People reguarly want to know why I have 5 horses & what I am going to do with them, but the answer never changes. I am loving it!

A couple of my favorite scriptures are Hebrews 10:23-24; 11:1. They speak of standing firm in out God and his faithfulness. As a child I always dreamed of having a horse. I love their gentleness even as they are so strong. I love to watch them run effortlessly. A couple of years ago I was given a chance to live this childhood dream.

My sweetie, Tommy & his dad answered a newspaper ad about a group of estimated 20 head horses. As they went out these horses were existing on 120 acreas with no human exposure or contact. Each time they went there were more horses. Final count reveals about 50. There were 3 studs each with their own band of mares. Tommy bought Promise for me & I bought Blessing and against all advice I brought Star home. Star was extremely sad looking but I had to have her. I have always been a succor for the underdog or in this case horse. The photos above are when we first brought the home & then today. What a difference a couple of years and lots of love makes. Each one has developed their own personality with Blessing being the sweet, gentle horse, Promise having to remind you she is in charge and Star.... well, Star has to check out everything and everybody, the adventuresome one. If you have anything in your hand it must be for her and she will try to take it from you. She loves the water, whether a pond, water hose, or sprinkler. She will chase a ball. Stand quietly while you push and pull of her. I am so glad I brought her home. She has brought many laughs in the past couple of years. She loves to run or race the truck, as well as anything new that might come up.

New Beginnings

So many of you have encouraged me to blog but each time I sit down to get started I am at a loss what to write. I love journaling, but it tends to be a hodge podge of comments between my and my Lord instead of following some semblance of order. The Lord ever has trouble with this since he knows me better than myself.

With Mariah (my granddaughter who is 5 weeks old now) it seems like a good time to try again.
